Psalm 97

Gàidhlig

Salm 97

Iehòbhah mòr, 's e tha na Rìgh,
  biodh aiteas air gach tìr;
'S air eileanan tha lìonmhor ann,
  biodh gàirdeachas gu lèir.

Tha neulan tiugh' is dorchadas
  ma thimcheall air gach leth;
'S e 's còmhnaidh fòs da chathair-rìgh
  deagh chothrom is ceart-bhreith.

Tha teine millteach ro a ghnùis
  ag imeachd air gach àird,
Len loisgear suas gu lasarach
  a naimhdean anns gach àit.

Le solas glan a dhealanaich
  dhealraich an cruinne-cè;
Chunnaic an talamh siud gu dearbh,
  ghrad-chlisg is chriothnaich e.

Na cnuic, an làthair Dhia nan dùl,
  leagh as air fad mar chèir;
Ro ghnùis Ard-Righ an domhain mhòir
  leagh iadsan as gu lèir.

Na nèamhan cuiridh 'n cèill a cheart;
  is chì gach sluagh a ghlòir.
Do dhealbhan snaidhte meud 's a chrom
  gu robh dhaibh amhluadh mòr,

Tha dèanamh uaill is ràiteachais
  à iodhalan nach fiù;
Gach uile dhè a tha sibh ann,
  sleuchdaibh do Dhia nan dùl.

Rinn Sion aoibhneas nach bu ghann,
  an uair a chual i 'n sgeul,
Rinn nighean Iudah gàirdeachas
  mud bhreitheanais, a Dhè.

Oir tha thu, Dhia Iehòbhah, àrd
  os cionn gach uile thìr;
Tha thu air d'àrdachadh gu mòr,
  os cionn gach dia gu lèir.

Sibhse len ionmhainn Dia ro-naomh,
  fuathaichibh olc a-chaoidh;
Anam a naomh sìor ghleidhidh e;
  soaraidh o làimh nan daoi.

Cuirear mar phòr gu frasach pailt,
  solas don fhìreanach;
Is aoibhneas dhaibhsan fòs a tha
  nan cridhe treibhdhireach.

Biodh aiteas oirbh an Dia na glòir',
  O fhìreanan gu lèir;
Is thugaibh buidheachas do Dhia,
  ri cuimhn' a naomhachd fhèin.

Psalm 97

Yahweh reigns! Let earth be glad
       and distant isles rejoice!
Clouds and thick darkness enfold him;
       he set his throne on justice and judgement;
fire goes ahead of him
       burning his foes on every side;
his lightning strikes throughout the world;
       the earth sees it and quakes.
In Yahweh's presence
       mountains melt like wax,
in the presence of
       the Lord of the earth.
The heavens declare his righteousness
       and all the nations see his glory.
Those who worship idols
       and those who boast of idols
       are put to shame.
Worship him, you gods!
Zion hears and rejoices,
       the towns of Judah are glad,
to hear your judgements, O Yahweh.
You, O Yahweh, are Most High above earth,
       far exalted above all gods.
May those who love Yahweh hate evil,
       for he guards the lives of his faithful
       and rescues them
       from the hand of the wicked.
Light is shed on the just
       and joy on the upright of heart.
Rejoice in Yahweh, all you just,
       and praise his holy name.
