Psalm 32

Gàidhlig

Salm 32

'S beannaicht' an duine sin a fhuair
  na pheacadh maitheanas;
A fhuair le tròcair falach air
  a chiont' is easaontas.

'S beannaicht' an tì nach agair Dia
  na sheachranan nas mò;
Is ann a spiorad fòs nach eil
  claon-chealgaireachd no gò.

A' fantainn dhomh gu fad am thàmh,
  laigh air mo chnàmhan aois,
Is b'amhlaidh sin gach là mo chor,
  le dol dom bhùireadh suas.

Oir ormsa bha do làmh gu trom,
  air feadh gach oidhch' is là:
Mo bhrìgh gu tart an t-samhraidh theith
  air atharrachadh a ta.

Làn-fhoillsich mi mo pheacadh dhut,
  nìor cheil mi m'aingidheachd:
Aidmheil (thuirt mi) do Dhia nì mis',
  is mhaith thu cron mo lochd.

Seo fàth mun guidhe riut gach naomh,
  san àm am faighear thu:
Gu dearbh an tuil nan uisgean mòr',
  cha ruig iad air gu dlùth.

Tha thu ad ionad falaich dhomh,
  nì coimhead orm o theinn;
Is nìthear leat mo chuartachadh
  le òran saorsa binn.

Dhut teagaisgidh is seòlaidh mi
  am bealach is an t-iùil,
San tigeadh dhutsa triall gu ceart;
  sin seòlam dhut lem shùil.

Na bi mar mhuileid, no mar each,
  na h-ainmhidhean gun chèill:
Rin cuirear, chum nach tig iad ort,
  teann-sparrag srèin nam beul.

Is lionmhor bròn aig luchd an uilc:
  ach neach dom barrant Dia,
Tha thròcair dol ma thimcheall-san
  ga dhìonadh mar nì sgiath.

A dhaoine treibhdhireach, an Dia
  bibh aoibhneach agus ait:
Is dèanaibh gàirdeachas, gach neach
  ga bheil an cridhe ceart.

Psalm 32

Of David. Poem.

Blessed are those whose faults are forgiven,
       whose sins are covered;
they are blessed whom Yahweh says are guiltless,
       whose spirit harbours no deceit.
While I kept silent my body was wasting
because of my groaning
       all the day long,
for day and night your hand lay heavy,
       and sapped my strength like summer heat.
Then I admitted my sin to you
       and did not hide my iniquity.
I said, "I will tell all my faults to Yahweh",
       and you forgave my sinful guilt.
Let all who are faithful turn to you
       while you may be found;
when the mighty waters rise
       they will never reach them.
You are a place where I can hide,
       you will save me from trouble
       and surround me with salvation.
I will teach you and show you
       the way you should go;
I will advise you
       and watch over you.
Do not be like a horse or a mule
       which cannot understand,
which need bit and bridle
       or they will not obey.
The wicked feel many pains,
       but faithful love
       enfolds all who trust Yahweh.
Rejoice and be glad in Yahweh,
       you righteous;
shout for joy,
       all you honest of heart!
