Salm 12
Nis fòir, is cuidich leam, a Dhè, 's gun deagh dhuin' idir ann: Na treibhdhirich measg chloinn nan daoin' rim faghail tha ro-ghann. Labhraidh gach neach ra choimhearsnach a' bhreug le miodal bèil; Le cridhe dùbailt' làn de cheilg, sìor labhraidh iad ri chèil'. Gach beul tha làn de ghabhann tlàth, don gnàth bhith leam is leat; An teanga bhruidhneach àrdanach sgathar le Dia nam feart; A thubhairt, Orra bheir sinn buaidh ler teangaidh fhèin a-mach; 'S leinn fhèin ar beul: cò e an Triath a chuireas sinn fo smachd? Ri sàrachadh nan deòradh truagh', ri osnaich dhaoine bochd, Nis èiridh mi, ars' Dia, gan dìon, on dream tha bagradh lochd. Is fìorghlan facal Dhè gu dearbh; amhlaidh mar airgead e, A leaghadh is a ghlanadh fòs seachd cuairt an suacan crè. Coimhididh tus' iad uile, Dhè, dìonaidh tu iad a-ghnàth. On ghinealach seo nis a th'ann, 's o sin a-mach gu bràth. Gluaisidh gach aon taobh luchd an uilc, is togaidh iad an ceann; An t-àm san cuirear suas gu h-àrd na daoin' as suaraich' th'ann.

Psalm 12
For the choirmaster. On the octachord. Psalm. Of David.
Help, O Yahweh, for the faithful are no more; the faithful have vanished from among the people. Neighbour tells lies to neighbour, and speaks smooth words from a devious heart. May Yahweh cut off each flattering lip and every boastful tongue, from those who say, "Our tongues are our strength and our lips are our allies, so who is our master?" Yahweh says, "The weak are oppressed, the needy are groaning, so I will arise! I will grant them the safety for which they long." The words of Yahweh are unalloyed, like silver refined in a crucible, like silver purified seven times over. O Yahweh, you will always watch over us, you will guard us from people like that. The wicked prowl on every side when people honour what is vile.
