Psalm 123

Gàidhlig

Salm 123

Mo shùilean togam riutsa tha
  'n còmhnaidh air nèamh nan speur.
Feuch, mar tha sùil nan seirbhiseach
  air làimh am maighstir fhèin,

'S mar shùilean banoglaich air làimh
  a ban-tighearna faraon,
Feithidh ar sùil air Dia, gus 'n dèan
  e tròcair oirnn gu caoin.

Dèan tròcair oirnn, Iehòbhah Dhia,
  dèan tròcair oirnn gu luath;
Oir tha sinn air ar lìonadh làn
  de tharcais is de fhuath.

Le fanaid luchd na seasgaireachd,
  lìonadh ar n-anam bochd;
'S le spìd na muinntir ud a tha
  làn àrdain is an-iochd.

Psalm 123

Song of ascents.

I lift my eyes to you
       whose throne is in heaven.
As the eyes of slaves
       watch their master's hand,
or the eyes of a slave-girl
       watch the hand of her mistress,
so we watch Yahweh our God
       until he shows us his mercy.
O Yahweh, pity us, have pity,
       for we have suffered scorn enough,
much scorn from the proud
       and contempt from the arrogant.
