Psalm 115

Gàidhlig

Salm 115

Dhuinne chan ann, a Thriath, chan ann,
  ach dod ainm uasal fhèin
Tabhair an cliù 's a' ghlòir, air sgàth
  do ghràis is d'fhìrinn rèidh.

Carson a theireadh fineachan,
  Càit bheil an Dia a-nis?
Ar Dia a ta air nèamh, is rinn
  gach gnìomh bu toileach leis.

An iodhail 's airgead iad is òr,
  gnìomh làmhan dhaoine fhèin.
Tha bèil ac' leis nach labhair iad;
  is sùilean leis nach lèir.

Tha cluasan ac', 's cha chluinn iad leo;
  is sròin', gun fhàile annt';
An làmh gun chlì, an cas gun cheum;
  an sgòrnan gun smid chainnt'.

Iadsan a dhealbh 's a ghèilleas dhaibh,
  's ro-chosmhail iad riu fhèin.
O Israeil, dèan-sa bun à Dia;
  's e 'n sgiath, 's an còmhnadh treun.

Thaigh Aaroin, O dèan bun à Dia;
  's e 'n còmhnadh, is an sgiath.
Luchd-eagail Dhè, làn-earbaidh as;
  an sgiath 's an neart 's e Dia.

Iehòbhah Dia bha cuimhneach oirnn;
  beannaichidh e sinn fhèin;
Beannaichear leis taigh Israeil,
  's taigh Aaroin mar an ceudn'.

Na big 's na mòir don eagal Dia,
  beannaichidh e gu caoin.
Cuiridh e sibh an lìonmhorachd,
  sibh fhèin 's ur sliochd faraon.

Is beannaicht' sibh on Tighearna,
  rinn nèamh is làr gu lèir.
An talamh thug do chloinn nan daoin';
  's leis fhèin àrd nèamh nan speur.

Na mairbh, no 'n dream thèid tosdach sìos
  don uaigh, cha mhol iad Dia.
Ach molar leinn e nis, 's gu bràth.
  Molaibh gu h-àrd an Triath.

Psalm 115

Do not ascribe the glory to us, not us,
       but to your name, O Yahweh,
       because of your faithful and constant love.
Why do the nations ask,
       "Where is their God?"
Our God is in heaven,
       and he does whatever he wills.
Their idols are made of silver and gold,
       fashioned by human skill;
they have mouths but cannot speak;
       they have eyes but cannot see;
they have ears but cannot hear;
       they have noses but cannot smell;
they have hands but cannot feel;
       they have feet but cannot walk;
they cannot utter a sound from their throats.
Those who make them are just like them,
       and so are all who trust in them.
House of Israel, trust in Yahweh,
       he is their help and shield;
House of Aaron, trust in Yahweh,
       he is their help and shield.
You who fear him, trust in Yahweh,
       he is their help and shield.
Yahweh will keep us in mind, to bless us;
       he will bless the House of Israel;
       he will bless the House of Aaron.
He will bless all who fear Yahweh,
       small and great alike.
May Yahweh add to your numbers,
       both you and your children;
may you be blessed by Yahweh,
       maker of heaven and earth.
Yahweh owns the highest heavens,
       but he gave the earth to the human race.
The dead cannot praise Yahweh,
       those who descend into silence;
we are the ones who extol Yahweh,
       both now and for eternity.
       Praise Yahweh!
