Psalm 85

Gàidhlig

Salm 85

Bha thusa gràsmhor fàbharach,
  a Dhè, dod dhùthaich fhèin;
Bruid Iàcoib thug thu air a h-ais
  a-ris led ghàirdean treun.

Cionta do phobaill mhaith thu fhèin;
  dh'fhalaich thu 'n uile lochd.
Choisg thu do chorraich uile, 's thill
  on lasan a bha ort.

Till sinn a-rìs, a Dhia ar slàint',
  is tog do lasan dhinn.
Am bi do chorraich rinn gu bràth,
  's an sìnear d'fhearg gach linn?

Nach dèanar leatsa, Dhia nan gràs,
  a-rìs ar tabhairt beò,
Gun dèanadh annad gàirdeachas
  do phoball fhèin gach lò?

Taisbein do thròcair dhuinn a-nis,
  a Tighearn is a Dhè;
Is deònaich dhuinne d'fhurtachd fòs,
  's do shlàinte fhèin gach rè.

Nis èisdeam ris an nì their Dia;
  labhraidh e sìth gu beachd
Ra phoball naomh; 's na tilleadh iad
  a-rìs chum amaideachd.

Gu dearbh tha chobhair dlùth don dream
  don eagal e gu fìor;
Chum glòir a bhith na còmhnaidh fòs,
  gu bunaiteach nar tìr.

Tha tròcair agus fìrinn ghlan
  air còmhlachadh a chèil';
Tha ceartas agus sìochaint mhath
  a' pògadh beul ri beul.

Is fàsaidh as an talamh fòs
  fìrinn a-nìos gu pailt;
Is seallaidh ceart is fìreantachd
  o nèamh a-nuas gun airc.

Is amhlaidh bheir Iehòbhah dhuinn
  nì math gu toirbheartach;
Is bheir ar fearann is ar fonn
  deagh thoradh trom a-mach.

Sìor ghluaisidh ceart is fìreantachd
  na fhianais-san gu rèidh;
Is sinn air sligh' a cheumannan
  gu dìreach stiùraidh e.

Psalm 85

For the choirmaster. Of the sons of Korah. Psalm.

O Yahweh, you showed favour to your land;
       you brought back the captives of Jacob.
You took away the guilt of your people
       and covered all their sins.
You retracted all your fury
       and turned from your hot anger.
Bring us back, O God our Saviour,
       and cancel your displeasure.
Will you be angry with us for ever?
       Will your fury stretch on for age after age?
Will you not give us life again,
       that your people may rejoice in you?
O Yahweh, show us your faithful love
       and grant us your salvation.
Let me hear the words of Yahweh God:
       he promises peace to his people, his faithful,
       if only they renounce their folly.
His sure salvation is near those in awe of him,
       so that his glory may dwell in our land.
Love and faithfulness meet together;
       peace and righteousness have embraced.
Faithfulness rises up from the earth,
       and righteousness looks down from heaven.
Yahweh himself will give what is good,
       and our soil will yield its harvest.
Righteousness prepares his way,
       treading out a path.
