Psalm 43

Gàidhlig

Salm 43

Cùm cothrom rium, is tagair fhèin
  mo chùis, on fhineach olc,
On eucorach, 's o fhear na ceilg';
  Dhè, saor-sa mi on lochd.

Carson a thilg thu mise uat,
  's gur tu mo Dhia 's mo threòir?
Carson bhrìgh fòirneart m'eascairde
  a shiùbhlainn fhèin fo bhròn?

Dhia, d'fhìrinn is do sholas glan,
  leig thugam iad a-mach;
Gam sheòladh chum do thulaich naoimh,
  's mo thabhairt chum do theach.

'N sin racham dh'ionnsaigh altair Dhè,
  an Dè sin m'aoibhneis mhòir;
Air clàrsaich bhinn do mholam thu,
  O Dhia, mo Dhia na glòir'.

O m'anam, cuim' a leagadh thu,
  le dìobhail misnich sìos?
Is cuim' a bheil thu 'n taobh staigh dhìom
  fo aimheal is fo sgìos?

Cuir dòchas daingeann ann an Dia;
  oir molam e a-ghnàth;
O 's e as slàinte do mo ghnùis,
  is e mo Dhia gu bràth.

Psalm 43

Uphold my cause, O God, from a godless nation.
       Save me from liars and unjust attacks.
You are my strength, O God.
       Why now desert me?
Why must I mourn, oppressed by the enemy?
Send light and truth
       to guide me and lead me
to your holy mountain,
       the place where you dwell,
to the altar of God, the God of my joy.
       I praise you with harp,
       O God, my God.
Why am I downcast? Why all this sighing?
       Put hope in God!
For I shall yet praise him,
       my Saviour, my God.
