Psalm 29

Gàidhlig

Salm 29

Thugaibh, a laochraidh làidir threun,
  do Thighearna nam feart,
Thugaibh don Tighearn ud faraon
  glòir, urram, agus neart.

A' ghlòir as cubhaidh fòs da ainm,
  thugaibh don Dia ro-threun:
Sleuchdaibh don Tighearna faraon
  am mais' a naomhachd fhèin.

Tha guth Dhè air na h-uisgeachan;
  is fòs nì Dia na glòir'
Ard-thàirneanach, is suidhidh e
  air uisgean làidir mòr'.

Tha guth an Tighearna gu beachd
  mòr-chumhachdach is treun:
Tha guth an Tighearna faraon
  làn mòralachd ann fhèin.

Brisidh an Tighearna le ghuth
  na seudair a tha fàs;
is brisear seudair Lebanoin
  le ghuth-san aig a chruas.

Is bheir e orra leum gu clist',
  amhlaidh mar ghamhainn bò:
Sliabh Shirioin is Lebanoin,
  mar bhuabhall meargant' òg.

Sgoiltidh guth Dhè an dealanach;
  am fàsach crathaidh e;
Seadh, fàsach Chadeis mar an ceudn',
  's e Dia a chrathas e.

Bheir guth Dhè fòs air aighean àllt'
  grad-sgarachdainn rin laoigh;
Is lomaidh siud na coilltean dlùth',
  a rùsgadh bharr nan craobh:

Is ann a theampall naomha-san,
  cuiridh gach neach an cèill
Glòir agus urram mòr ar Dia,
  ga mholadh-san da rèir.

Tha Dia na chòmhnaidh air an tuil,
  's na shuidh' am feasd na Rìgh.
Bheir Dia da phoball neart; is bheir
  dhaibh beannachadh le sìth.

Psalm 29

Psalm. Of David.

Ascribe to Yahweh, you sons of God,
       ascribe to Yahweh both glory and strength.
Ascribe to Yahweh the glory his name deserves,
       worship Yahweh in splendour of holiness.
The voice of Yahweh is over the waters;
       the thunder of the God of glory,
       Yahweh thunders over mighty waters.
Yahweh's voice is full of power,
       the voice of Yahweh is majestic.
The voice of Yahweh shatters cedars,
       Yahweh breaks the cedars of Lebanon.
He makes Lebanon skip like a calf,
       Sirion like a wild ox calf.
Yahweh's voice flashes forth the lightning,
the voice of Yahweh shakes the desert,
       Yahweh shakes the desert of Kadesh.
Yahweh's voice makes oak trees twist
       and strips the forests bare.
All cry "Glory!" in his Temple.
Yahweh is enthroned above the flood,
       Yahweh is enthroned as king forever.
May Yahweh grant his people strength!
       May Yahweh bless his people with peace!
